Retail Value is an upbeat song about a not fun subject. Being stuck in a series of jobs that I really didn't like, and trying to find the gumption to move on. Customer service can wear you down after a while. Being patient and reasonable with people who aren't, and putting on a fake smile when you feel like shit gets old quick.I wrote and recorded this as I was leaving my last (hopefully) retail job. I play guitars, bass, drums, glockenspiel, Montreal steak spice and sesame seeds (the last two are shakers.)
